Although The Doveberry Inn is cozy and provincial, the food is
anything but. The Authentic Northern Italian cuisine
prepared by owners Michael and Christine Fayette promises to
turn a memorable stay into a downright unforgettable visit — and
a very, very tasty one at that. Both Michael and Christine are
trained chefs who have honed their skills in superior
restaurants from California to Florida, from Nantucket to
Vermont. When they brought their culinary skills to Vermont, it
was only a matter of time before the Doveberry Inn garnered
national attention. Only a casual glance at recent reviews
confirms that word is definitely getting around about the inn's
unique combination of savory meals and country-style
accommodation. Vermont Magazine recently called the Doveberry's
"exemplary meals," the "most memorable dining experience," in
all of the Deerfield Valley, Vermont. Conde Nast Traveler
included the Doveberry in its prestigious list of 25 American
Inns with Super Chefs, saying that, "even the wonderfully
fragrant shrimp and radicchio risotto won't prepare you for the
magnificence of a hearty veal chop grilled over apple, mesquite,
and hickory." In the summer and fall, the Fayette's imaginative
creations are made with hand picked, home grown, organic
vegetables. All year round dinner is served to lodgers and
drop-ins alike in a beautiful 32-seat dining room with a full
bar and an extensive wine list that boasts offerings from the
finest vineyards of the world.
The New Year Brings New Beginnings
The Year 2011 brings fresh beginnings!
Michael and I are entering our 17th winter here at the Doveberry Inn! We have seen many snowfalls, January thaws, perfect bluebird skies under which to ski, golf or hike! We have served many dinners to many people, house guests and outside diners. Over the years we have noticed changes, some good, some bad.
With the New Year we have decided to start some new traditions here at the Doveberry Inn. We are going to be focusing on our guests more than before. The afternoons are going to be jazzed up with more than just cookies and cocoa. The new fireplace is much warmer, so we want our guests to feel more warmth all around. Perhaps some cheese and wine to linger over?
Our dining room will be focused on Inn guests as well. We are still going to be preparing breakfast and dinner for our guests. We have decided to take the dining room in a different direction. We will have a limited menu, but serving mainly house guests. This will allow better dinner times, less parking issues, and more relaxing experience. No more fighting for a parking space, and no more interruptions while sitting by the fire.
We truly enjoy all our guests. We want this to be a true cozy Vermont Inn experience, with all the trimmings! So as you return to our little slice of Vermont, know that our House guests are our number one priority!
Happy 2011!
